It is important you know about your anti-discrimination rights. I am proud to be in the business of protecting those rights because I think my work discourages those who might otherwise hope to take advantage by abuse, threats or retaliation.
Abused persons are quite often the least likely to complain - they are naturally reluctant, sometimes because they already consider themselves in a weak position before the abuse.
You may be entitled to obtain financial recovery for individual or class-based discrimination against you based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, and/or reprisal (retaliation).
Common categories of illegal discrimination are:
- Hiring/Promotion
- Wrongful Discharge from Employment
- Wrongful Disciplinary Action against you
- Unequal/ Unfair Treatment
- Unfair Religious Treatment
- Unwillingness to accommodate a qualified disability
Retaliation?
If you have complained to your supervisor about discriminatory conduct against you and now, because of your complaint, you have been retaliated against (for example now you are being denied training or promotional opportunities or now you are being assigned to undesirable
working conditions) that, too, is illegal.
Call us for a free consultation - you may have legal rights that we can help you with.
