Harris Federal Law Firm handles social security disability claims for both Federal and Non-Federal employees. Read the important distinctions and requirements below.
For Non-Federal Employees
In order to be eligible for social security disability, one must be unable to do ANY substantial gainful activity. If you are NOT a Federal employee, and you'd like to discuss your situation with us, please contact us.
For Federal Employees
Federal medical disability retirement is less difficult to prove because a person is permitted benefits even if he CAN perform other substantial gainful activity, but can't perform the functions of his old work station.
If a Federal employee applies for medical disability retirement, he must also apply for Social Security Disability. If approved for both, it doesn't necessarily increase their overall monthly income benefit.
If you are a Federal employee, and you'd like to discuss your situation with us, please contact us.
